Install Android 16 LineageOS 23 Android 16 + Google Apps + Root (Complete A–Z Tutorial)
📦 Requirements
- Google USB Drivers
- ADB & Fastboot Platform Tools
- LineageOS 23 ROM ZIP
- Lineage Recovery Image
- MindTheGapps / (Android 16 ARM64)
- Optional Magisk Root
- Original USB Cable
🖥️ Step 1: Install USB Drivers & Platform Tools
Install USB Drivers
- Download official Google USB drivers - Google USB Drivers
- Extract files
- Open Device Manager
- Update driver manually
Install Platform Tools
(Extract to C Drive or any other folder )
C:\platform-tools
adb version
fastboot version
fastboot version
🔓 Step 2: Unlock Bootloader
If you don't know how to to unlock bootloader, follow this tutorial - Link
How Unlock Bootloader ?
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flashing unlock
fastboot flashing unlock
⚠️ Unlocking bootloader will erase all data on your device.
📂 Step 3: Download Required Files
🛠️ Step 4: Flash Lineage Recovery
Steps for boot into fastboot mode
- Turn off device
- Hold power key + voulume down keys together
Open platform tools folder
Type cmd in the folder path and hit enter
Connect to USB cable
Type "fastboot devices" and see whether the device has been identified by the PC
fastboot flash boot boot.img ""paste your file path to boot.img"
fastboot flash vendor_boot "paste your file path to vendor_boot.img"
Boot into new lineage recovery by pressing volume keys to select recovery mode & boot into it by pressing power keys
🧹 Step 5: Factory Reset
- Open Lineage Recovery
- Select Factory Reset
- Format Data
- Goto apply update option
📲 Step 6: Flash LineageOS 23
adb devices
adb sideload "paste your folder path to rom.zip"
ℹ️ Installation may visually stop at 47% — this is normal.
Boot into new recovery again to flash GApps
Follow above steps and go to apply update option
adb devices
🌍 Step 7: Flash Google Apps (Wiki Method)
adb sideload "paste your folder path to wikigapps.zip"
⚠️ Flash GApps immediately after ROM installation BEFORE first boot.
- Must match Android 16
- ARM64 only
- Wrong package may cause bootloops
🔥 Step 8: Optional Root with Magisk
If you need ROOT, you must power on your device and install magisk apk on lineage os 23 android 16 rom
Then get a copy of the boot.img to your phone and patch it using the magisk app
Again you should login to the fastboot mode and flash patched boot img using the boot image flash command
fastboot flash boot "your folder path to magisk patched boot.img"
🚀 Step 9: First Boot
First startup may take 5–10 minutes.
